Elected officials from Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park will meet Wednesday evening to discuss shared government services, the Judicial Center and parking garage project, and Washington Manassas Airport.
The meeting is part of a relatively new regional committee created to give the three neighboring governments a regular public forum for issues that cross jurisdictional boundaries.

A New Regional Forum
Prince William County formally established the Joint Interjurisdictional Ad Hoc Committee on Feb. 4, 2025, after the Board of County Supervisors directed staff in September 2024 to develop a structure for regular cooperation with Manassas and Manassas Park.
The committee’s charter says its purpose is to improve communication, transparency and cooperation among the three governments.
Its areas of discussion include shared services, health and social services, housing policy, joint economic development, and infrastructure and facilities planning.
The committee has six regular members:
Prince William County: Chair Deshundra Jefferson and Supervisor Yesli Vega
City of Manassas: Mayor Michelle Davis-Younger and Council Member Sonia Vasquez Luna
City of Manassas Park: Mayor Alanna Mensing and Council Member Yesy Amaya
The committee can discuss issues and make recommendations, but final action remains with the Board of County Supervisors or the appropriate city council.
What Has Happened So Far
The committee began holding regular meetings in 2026.
At its first meeting in February, members selected officers, established a meeting schedule and discussed the Judicial Center, constitutional offices and shared services.
In May, the committee returned to the Judicial Center expansion and shared-services agreement.
In July, members again discussed shared services and established a process for bringing future issues to the committee.
So far, the committee has mainly established a regular public process for the three governments to discuss regional issues together.
What Is on Wednesday’s Agenda
Shared Services
Members will continue a discussion of shared services, a subject that has appeared repeatedly since the committee began meeting.
The discussion is intended to examine areas where the three jurisdictions already cooperate or may be able to coordinate more closely.
Judicial Center and Parking Garage
The committee will receive an update on the Judicial Center and parking garage project, along with an outreach plan.
The Judicial Center has been discussed at previous meetings, making Wednesday’s update part of an ongoing regional discussion about a major public facility serving residents across the area.
Washington Manassas Airport
Washington Manassas Airport is also scheduled for discussion.
The airport is owned by the City of Manassas, but its economic and transportation impact extends beyond the city.
The Manassas Journal has been following the airport’s transition toward scheduled passenger service, including terminal planning, aviation business growth and new technology development. Wednesday’s discussion brings the airport into a regional forum involving all three governments.
Why This Committee Is Different
Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park have long worked together through regional services, boards and agreements.
What is new is a formal committee made up of elected officials from all three jurisdictions with a broad mandate to discuss regional issues in public.
That gives residents another place to follow issues that may later return to their own city council or the Board of County Supervisors for action.
