Manassas Journal Hires Its First Paperboy
Local paperboy returns to his old profession after a few decades away
The Manassas Journal is hiring paperboys and gals, and we’re pleased to announce our first employee.
Meet Dave.
Dave has some experience. As a young teenager, he delivered the Journal Messenger through Manassas, back when a newspaper on the front porch was part of the weekend routine.
Now he’s getting back into the business.
Dave has been assigned the Weems and Lomond neighborhoods, with a route running from Plantation Lane, down Victoria Street to Lomond Drive, and he’s currently looking for new customers along the way.
There is one complication.
Our new paperboy can only work part-time on Mondays. Apparently, he has a little side venture on Mathis Avenue where he makes ice cream.
You may have heard of it.
Nathan’s Dairy Bar.
So, after a few decades away from the newspaper business, Dave is back on a Manassas paper route, helping the Manassas Journal bring an old hometown tradition back to the neighborhood.
And we’re still hiring.
Want the Manassas Journal delivered to your neighborhood? Want your own paper route?
Let us know.
Some traditions are worth bringing back.
