Good Monday morning,
A young woman reached out to the Manassas Journal after hearing we had an opening on our delivery team.
She had been watching what we were doing and asked four simple words:
“How can I help?”
Those might be four of the best words a community newspaper can hear.
We’re growing. People are reading. People are stopping our carriers to grab a paper. And, truthfully, we’re doing more than our small team sometimes can handle.
So her message got to me.
We told her the glamour of newspaper delivery may have been slightly exaggerated. We haven’t even gotten around to discussing pay. But there is something pretty rewarding about handing someone a newspaper and watching them stop, open it and read about their own community again.
That’s what the Manassas Journal is becoming. Neighbors helping neighbors tell the story of where we live.
